I have discovered the real reason that NetApp are not so pro-tiering and especially automated tiering; it is related to my previous blog here but also back in the history of NetApp. Back in the day and it still persists to some extent today, the NetApp filers were affectionately known as 'Toasters'.
Now if we move forward to today and we look at the amount of automation and indeed intelligence that is going into storage arrays; it should be obvious to anyone why NetApp have a problem!
Intelligent Toasters!! Better known to one and all as 'Cylons'!
If NetApp progress down the route of putting more and more intelligence into their arrays, they will ultimately doom humanity! NetApp must be stopped now!
'So Say We All'
If this joke never gets repeated again, I will shed no tiers.
booooo
Humanity is sooo doomed!
